Where is the nearest compost site?
Residents within the City limits of Chisago City, Lindstrom, Wyoming, and Stacy may compost leaves, grass clippings, and brush (up to 3" diameter) at no charge. Persons will be asked for identification (Drivers License, Sewer & Water Bill and/or Tax Statement) showing their street address and name. Anyone without identification will be charged a fee. No Commercial Lawn Services, Tree Services, Landscaping Services, or Commercial Businesses will be permitted to haul to or from the site. Non-city residents, such as Chisago Lakes Township, Wyoming Township, Franconia Township, Center City, and Shafer may also use the facility. A compost fee of $0.50 per bag will be charged. Pick-up and trailer loads will be charged accordingly.
Officials operating the Compost Site remind the public that the Composting Site is CLOSED during inclement/rainy weather to protect the access roads within the Site. (During prolonged or wet weather, persons have been stuck at this site.)
