CHISAGO CITY'S EMERALD ASH BORE PROGRAM/GRANT/APPLICATION

Chisago City has created an Emerald Ash Bore management plan that addresses management of ash trees in parks, city boulevards, and within the community.

The city has received a grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to help deal with emerald ash borer, which is impacting about 1,700 ash trees in the community. The funding will go toward removing around 40 unsafe ash trees, mainly on low-income residential properties and city boulevards in the Priority Area. Each removed tree will be replaced with a new, more diverse species.

This grant will help reduce safety risks, protect the environment, and provide support to residents who may not otherwise be able to afford tree removal.
