Living in Chisago City

We would like to thank you for choosing Chisago City as your home. Our city is approximately fourteen square miles, has an estimated population of 5,000 and is located in Chisago County. We are very proud of our strong Swedish heritage here with our sister city in Algutsboda, Sweden. We continue to maintain our small town charm while being very close to all the amenities of the Twin Cities. Chisago City is a very unique, historic community. We received our name from Indians who settled here long ago. The name Chisago comes from the Chippewa (Ojibway) Indian name referring to Chisago Lake (Kichi-saga sagiagan).
